Here’s a recent installation the team did for a progressing final mile carrier looking for an efficient and cost-effective way to maintain its delivery fleet in-house. We partnered with Mohawk Lifts, a company that designs, welds, and manufactures its products in the USA. For this specific application, we installed a TP-18 lift, a clear floor above-ground lift capable of raising light and medium-duty vehicles up to 18,000 lbs, making it a perfect solution for our client.
For its construction, the TP-18 columns feature 3/4” masts, and each carriage is equipped with 8 double-sealed, self-lubricating, steel ball-bearing rollers. Additionally, two 4” heavy-duty cylinders contribute to safer and more stable lifting. They come with easily adjustable overhead stainless steel hydraulic lines which can be set at any height or routed in the floor to accommodate taller trucks and vans. This lift maintains a low profile with 5” swing arms that fit under most passenger cars. Safety features include all-position mechanical safety locks in both columns, starting at ground level and extending to full lifting height, and internal hydraulic safeties supported by external pressure-compensated flow controls and velocity fuse valving.
The safety features in the design of Mohawk Lifts provide a significant advantage. The swing arm restraints automatically engage when lifting and disengage when the vehicle is fully lowered. Mohawk’s comprehensive warranty includes 25 years for structural components, 10 years for mechanical components, and a limited lifetime warranty for the cylinders. Partnering with Mohawk for this installation was a seamless process. Their design allowed for quick commissioning and installation, allowing the team to complete the installation in one day without service interruption.
